MD-81
The MD-81 represents a significant milestone in the history of commercial aviation as the successor to the successful DC-9 series. Our collection of MD-81 models includes accurate replicas of aircraft from prestigious airlines, including SAS, Austrian Airlines, Swissair and Japan Air System. Each model faithfully reproduces the authentic livery from the 1980s and 1990s, including the special markings and lettering of each airline.

The 1:200 and 1:500 scale MD-81 models from renowned manufacturers Herpa and JC Wings represent the perfect blend of historical value and collectible quality. Each model features detailed registration markings and authentic liveries from specific periods of service, including unique variants such as the McDonnell Douglas demo version with an experimental GE UDF engine.
The collection includes rare examples with original aircraft names, such as the SAS “Nora Viking” or the Swissair “Bachenbülach” with special promotional lettering. These models complement collections focusing on McDonnell Douglas aircraft and their development, much like our DC-3 and MD-83 models.
